Irish Syllabus

First and Second Class

We focus on the four core strands of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The emphasis is on building vocabulary and confidence through interactive activities and games.

  • Confidence in listening work
  • Asking and answering questions

Third and Fourth Class

We focus on the four core strands of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The goal is to listen to and understand Irish as a normal language of communication. More complex sentence structures and vocabulary are introduced to written and reading work.

Fifth and Sixth Class

Students will develop a strong foundation in Irish to enable them to excel at secondary level. The course will develop children’s confidence and competence in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Irish.
